Circus clown Kuklachev filed lawsuits against 10 political bloggers who accused Kuklachev of torturing cats

One of Kuklachev's victims is Michael Verbitsky (“Misha”, http://verbit.ru ). Misha is a mild-mannered Russian mathematician, a Harvard graduate, a civil liberties activist and a father of four children. Just a few days ago, Misha was giving lectures in a university in Brazil, when he found that back in his Russian homeland he became a target of a lawsuit filed … by a circus clown Yuri Kuklachev ( http://kuklachev.ru ).

Apparently Misha, who is also one of the most famous political bloggers in the Russian "blogosphere", discussed in his blog a series of bizarre incidents when Kuklachev threatened with lawsuits several social networking and literature websites. Kuklachev went berserk when the visitors to those websites dared to hold the discussions about the rumors that Kuklachev uses electric shock to train his cats to perform unnatural tricks like walking on two front legs. Such discussions were not groundless – for example a mainstream Ukrainian newspaper Bulvar Gordona already published an article mentioning that Kuklachev “trains” his cats by inserting hard objects into their anal orifices (http://www.bulvar.com.ua/arch/2007/43/471e32765f278/ ).

Why did Kuklachev decided to sue bloggers rather than the newspaper? Some commentators raised the possibility that Kuklachev was used by pro-Putin “political technologists” who wants to weed out the political dissidents (including Misha Verbitsky) from the Russian Internet. They probably perceived Misha as an ideal victim for such a plan – Misha is well-known, but cannot afford the costs of litigation. In addition to it, Kuklachev has a lot of friends in Moscow government and the courts in Russia are not exactly independent.

Right now Misha's blog http://lj.rossia.org/users/tiphareth is not working because it became the target of a massive DDoS-attack technically similar to attacks on Estonian websites back in 2007 ( http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2009/03/pro-kremlin-gro/ ).

How can you help Misha and other Russian political bloggers? )

A型。

AC Adapter?

  • Dec. 4th, 2009 at 11:23 AM
I don't know why I am having trouble figuring this out, but for some reason, it all seems a little confusing....

For a friend's time lapse project we want to set my Canon Rebel XT up so that it will automatically take photos at a certain interval for a certain length of time. The camera will be connected to a computer via USB and controlled with the EOS Utility. I know that we need to power the camera with an outlet rather than the batteries, so we need to get an AC adapter.

I'm trying to research what adapter I need online. My friend is willing to foot the bill for it, so I gotta get him the right link. I can't seem to figure out which adapter I need because I can't envision exactly how it is all connected and everything seems a little vague.

Is this what I need? How does the set up work? Is there a (Cheaper) off brand version?

Sorry, I know this is a stupid question, and I feel pretty stupid for not being able to get it.

Thanks for your help.

  • Dec. 4th, 2009 at 4:04 AM

Christkind

「Advent, Advent, ein Lichtlein brennt.
Erst eins, dann zwei, dann drei, dann vier -
dann steht das Christkind vor der Tür.」

most wii for my buck

  • Dec. 3rd, 2009 at 1:41 PM
hello! i've been wanting a Wii for a while, but i'm kinda cheap. So I've been noticing some of the bundles that various retailers are doing and think this is the time to buy. The latest one is Walmart - you get a $50 gift card when you by a Wii. So, do you think this is the best deal? Or are there bundles out there that cost more, but you get more accessories/games?

There aren't that many games I want (Wii play, resort sports, mario kart, rock band/guitar hero, and the new super mario bros.) and I haven't found any bundles with these games. Are these games easy to find on sale or lightly used at a good price?

Anyone have any insider info on the retail industry and think that after Christmas i might find an even better deal??

Thanks for your help/opinions!

And if this isn't ok for the community, please delete and accept my apologies!
